After searching for the best hoverboard model on the market, you have finally put your gaze upon Halo Rover and Swagtron. Both are electric hoverboards, but Halo Rover is generally more expensive than Swagtron. So, what is exactly the difference between Halo Rover and Swagtron? Well, the short answer is that Halo Rover is an off-road hoverboard whereas Swagtron is a traditional hoverboard. Below, you can find out more about the between detailed differences between Halo Rover and Swagtron. So, continue reading!
Design
The most prominent difference between Halo Rover and Swagtron models can be seen on the wheels. Halo Rover has larger wheels than Swagtron models. In addition, you can see that the tires of Halo Rover also sport a more aggressive tread pattern than Swagtron. Both the larger size and the more aggressive tread pattern are crucial for usability in an off-road terrain. Of course, it cannot be taken to serious off-road environments, but Halo Rover is certainly able to get you through sand, mud, and snow safely. Swagtron models lack the grip and traction needed to go through snow, thus are prone to slipping. From the looks alone, though, we may conclude that Halo Rover definitely looks more rugged than Swagtron. (Take a look: Halo Rover vs EPIKGO)
Performance
Obviously, as an off-road hoverboard, Halo Rover has been given a significantly more powerful motor than the ones found on traditional models like Swagtron. A Swagtron model usually has a 250-W or 350-W motor. But Halo Rover is coming with a 400-W motor. Besides enabling the hoverboard to run at a higher speed, the more powerful motor is also needed for climbing slopes and going through a harsh, demanding unpaved road.
And, of course, Halo Rover is faster than Swagtron models. A typical Swagtron hoverboard can only run at up to 8 mph. Halo Rover has a top speed of 10 mph. The higher speed will allow the hoverboard to take you to your destination more quickly. Halo Rover also has a stronger battery, too, as it can run continuously at max speed for about an hour. In other words, it should be able to cover roughly 100 miles per charge. A Swagtron model usually lasts under an hour, so the total distance covered is less than 80 miles.
Conclusion
The primary reason why you should choose Halo Rover is the off-road performance. It also has a stronger motor that can climb most sloped roads easily. However, for casual usage on good, paved roads, a Swagtron model is usually sufficient.
